Weight Loss Recipes

This page is a collection of our “weight loss recipes” – and even if you aren’t trying to lose weight, you might be surprised how healthy, flavorful, and filling these dishes are. Since we’re using weight watchers it’s been very easy to keep track of what we eat, but we never expected to be eating meals as good as these. We hope you enjoy these recipes as much as we enjoyed cooking them and putting them online for you~!

Week 1 Weight Loss Recipes

I’ve been on a diet for one week now, and I’ve lost 9 lbs – these are the exact recipes (and images) of what I’ve eaten for dinner each day…

Weight Loss Recipe Beef and Bean Chili

Most people wouldn’t think that Beef and Bean Chili would promote weight loss, but you have to have protein to stay healthy – and this recipe is proof that you can both have beef AND sour cream in a recipe diet! You will not be sorry if you choose this very filling and satisfying meal to cook for your next dinner! Get the Recipe

Weight Loss Recipe Orange Chicken with Broccoli and Rice

Get a little oriental in your weight loss diet! Many “orange chicken” recipes are laden with horrible things – like deep fried and breaded chicken, with a think sauce based in syrup and sugar. This version of Orange Chicken is both flavorful and filling (with the rice). Get the Recipe

Black Bean and Rice Salad Recipe Loses Weight

Everyone was a little bit skeptical about this recipe, but the Black Bean and Rice salad had so much flavor – it put everyone’s fears to rest pretty quickly. It has good crunch, and the beans and corn are what really gives it flavor and texture. You can add salad dressing to it, maybe some ranch or italian – but you really don’t need to. Get the Recipe

We had ours with a lovely side salad (as you can see in the thumbnail). Are you ready for a healthy homemade pizza recipe? Get the Recipe

Weight Loss Recipe Healthy Cream of Potato Soup

I never would have expected to make this recipe on a weight loss diet either. I always loved Cream of Potato Soup – and this is probably the first time I ever made it without bacon, and with roasted garlic. I think YOU will also be surprised by how tasty it is, and you’ll be surprised that you can lose weight eating potato soup with beans and ham! Get the Recipe

Week 2 Weight Loss Recipes

This is the start of week 2 – I hope to lose even more weight!

Lose Weight with Chicken Stir Fry!

This is one of the best healthy Chicken Stir Fry recipes I’ve encountered, and it’s mainly because of the asparagus and broccoli! We found that we just love this recipe, and nobody in our house had really ever eaten asparagus before. Now, I think we’ll eat it more often. The slight kick of the hot pepper, made it even better! Losing Weight with Recipes

The process of losing weight is long and tedious if you have a LOT to lose (as we do in my house). Losing weight fast or too quickly is not good, and no fad diet in the world can help you long term – because you’re not changing your lifestyle or learning any life skills to be different.

What we have learned: is that you MUST learn to COOK BETTER, with fresh ingredients, and that you MUST learn to control your portions. You also need the tools to know what foods are only good in moderation. We have been through and on nearly every diet ever put out, including Atkins, Cookie diet, Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem, Medical Weight Loss, Weight Watchers, and more. In 20 years nothing has ever worked long term.

For some reason we decided to try Weight Watchers again – and it’s WORKING! The program has dramatically changed, the point system is new, and you don’t have to even attend meetings anymore (although you can) with the new online system.

It’s the most revolutionary system I’ve ever used, and the online weight watchers allows me to record my points, find new recipes, check how much out to eat items are, and even connect with other people on the program. There’s specifically a version for men, and one for women as well. My wife and son use the weight watchers apps on their phone(s) and the iPad – I use it on my laptop and desktop.

I’m going to give you the links below to go and check it out. I lost 9 lbs my first week, and 6 lbs my second week – but you should know that 2 lbs a week is typical for safe weight loss. In addition, the links below are affiliate links – if you click and signup we do get a small commission (that’s how we pay the bills around here!).

I hope that you try Weight Watchers, because the new Points Plus system is unlike anything I’ve used before. I never use up all my points on a daily or weekly basis – and I eat all day long, 3 meals, and all kinds of snacks. In the future I’ll write some updates about what we actually do for snacks and meal planning.
